July 19, 2015 Smoke from the Storm

Here I’m singin’ happy birthday
Better think about the about the wish I make
This year gone by ain’t been a piece of cake
Everyday’s a revolution
Pull it together and it comes undone
Just one more candle and a trip around the sun….Jimmy Buffet

July babies are  ‘special’. Conceived some where between Halloween and Thanksgiving. Developing and growing through Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day and Easter. By the time we are born, me and my Mom have celebrated many times and I was ready for a July birthday.  Friday, 9:46am on the 22nd of July, at Syracuse General Hospital  on Castle Street, I made my entrance-screaming and howling.  6 pounds  4 ounces. Amazing. My Mom named me after her sister Jane.  What a great lady to share a name with.

Countdown is on, Wednesday is the day. Made it to 66.  Great ride. I would not change anything in my life, if I could do it again, I would.

This past week marked the first change in my treatment for ‘Osteomylitis’. Monday morning call from Dr. Shockley, was the demise of one antibiotic -Cubicin.  Tuesday morning office appointment and blood draw with Doc. He was very reassuring that the remaining  antibiotic ‘Cefepime’ would be ample coverage.  A possible new antibiotic maybe added this Tuesday pending labs.  As always Doc Shockley and his office staff  is a fresh breath of air -always look forward to Tuesday’s mornings.

Saturday July 18th was my birthday ‘present to me’ pick up day.  My first present was my hair.  My niece, Dee and hair color specialist  -at 7am placed the Vella Balsam R-V 4 on my hair and 45 minutes later……..no more white, just Red-Violet hair color.

My second present was my new car pick up day. My niece Debo, took on the challenge to drive to Pahrump to get the car.  It was an outstanding day, laughed and I got to bring ‘my new baby’ home to Las Vegas. My new baby’s name is Sasha. She is RED. She is a Chevy. She is a Corvette.  I am ‘Living the Dream’.  Happy Birthday to me.

I want to thank everyone who reads this Blog weekly and contacts me with wonderful comments. Thank you for the birthday cards via snail mail…via email. It is all of you who make my journey fulfilling. Watch out for smoke over Las Vegas on the 7/22—-it is the candles on my cake burning !!….Peace and love

No you never see it comin’
Always wind up wonderin’ where it went
Only time will tell if it was time well spent
It’s another revelation
Celebrating what I should have done
With these souvenirs of my trip around the sun

I’m just hangin’ on while this old world keeps spinning
And it’s good to know it’s out of my control
If there’s one thing that I’ve learned from all this livin’
Is that it wouldn’t change a thing if I let go

Yes I’ll make a resolution
That I’ll never make another one
Just enjoy this ride on my trip around the sun
Just enjoy this ride……..
